POSITION OVERVIEW:
A Caravan Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of passengers and cargo while operating Tropic Air’s Cessna C208 aircraft within regulatory and procedural framework provided, while maintaining high customer service and relation standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum:
    • Commercial Pilot’s license with Instrument Rating (C208B).
    • Associate Degree.
    • English Proficiency minimum ICAO standard Level 5.
    • Successful completion of the training course specific to the single crew role if conducting single crew operations.
    • CE-208: Total Hours: 2000, in command 1000 hours, of which 150 in command of a turbine engine powered aircraft, 50 hours in type which need not be Pilot in Command, 25 hours flight time under IFR and 15 hours flight time at night.
    • PIC 500 (to include 100 hrs. IFR), Multi-Engine turbine 250, In type 50 (which need not be PIC).
    • Rating on approval, Total Hours: 500
    • 50 Hours on the specific types or class of airplane under IFR, of which 10 hours is as a Pilot in Command, for single crew operations.
  • Preferred:
    • Airline Transport Pilot’s License
    • Bachelor’s Degree

Reports To: Station Manager

Primary Function: Provides technical support to logistics and ground operations. This position is critical for service delivery, customer satisfaction and retention. Functions include support to passenger check-in, luggage handling, boarding, deplaning, dispatch and distribution, ticketing & reservations.

Duties:

  1. Address all ticketing needs of customers.
  2. Ensure passenger luggage is properly tagged to the right destination.
  3. Address passenger request for changes in reservations.
  4. Address all check-in, boarding, deplaning, and meet & greet requirements.
  5. Make a conscious effort to provide excellent customer service and protect customer satisfaction and retention.

Tropic Air is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of a Building Maintenance Assistant at Tropic’s Maintenance Department in San Pedro. Interested candidates living at a different location must be willing to relocate.

Reports To: Building Maintenance Manager

Primary Function: Provides technical support to staff managing and performing building maintenance. This includes repairing and servicing A/C units, conducting infrastructure repairs. The incumbent is required to travel throughout Tropic’s Network to perform his/her duties.

Duties:

  1. Assist in painting, electrical repairs, and air conditioning unit maintenance.
  2. Preparing all materials needed for servicing and repairing.
  3. Hold or hand off tools, equipment, and parts to workers who are actively working on maintenance or repairs. 
  4. Clean and wash interior and exterior of buildings, as well as machinery and equipment. 
  5. Responsible for securing and taking good care of all tools provided by the company to perform routine tasks.
  6. Maintain work area and equipment clean and organized after each completed task.
  7. Properly storing, handling, and disposing of hazardous waste and materials.
  8. Maintain outdoor machines and equipment with anti-corrosion inhibitor.
  9. Help in maintaining facilities clean and in good operating condition.
  10. Performing general maintenance and repair of building, grounds, and equipment.

Reports To: Parts Manager

Primary Function: The Parts Clerk is responsible to perform storeroom duties such as stocking, inventory, issuing of parts and monitoring shelf life.

Duties:

  1. Brief the Stores Manager on any errors, trends, or deficiencies regarding Tropic Air’s Stores Managements System.
  2. Work with the Stores Manager to establish corrective actions based on Stores Management Audit findings or Occurrence Reports.
  3. Adhere to the Stores Management Policy.
  4. Recommend improvements in the Stores Management Program to the Stores Manager.
  5. Report occurrences, discrepancies, and trends to the Stores Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for properly receiving, binning, and issuing materials in a timely manner.
  2. Maintain an accurate and controlled inventory with the assistance of ARMS.
  3. Issue parts and equipment as required and keep paperwork and logs to detail parts given out and to who.
  4. Perform receiving inspection of parts and materials to ensure conformity with BDCA regulations and customers’ requirements, ensuring that no unapproved parts go undetected.
  5. Process core returns to vendors.
  6. Ensure conformity with BDCA regulatory requirements (Calibration, certification, shelf life, parts quarantine)
  7. Thoroughly inspect tools upon issuing and retrieval by Maintenance Staff.
  8. Perform regular inventory, cycle counts, and maintain min/max requirements.

Education & Experience:

Minimum: 

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, purchasing and warehouse logistics.

Preferred: 

  1. Associates Degree

Tropic Air is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of a Stores Logistics Coordinator at Tropic’s Maintenance Department in San Pedro. Interested candidates living at a different location must be willing to relocate.

Reports To: Parts Manager

Primary Function: The Stores and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for organizing and providing movement, storage and processing solutions for Tropic Air’s inventory by ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations.

Duties: 

  1. Inform the Parts Manager of any shipping delays or shortcomings.
  2. Brief the Parts Manager on process improvement procedures to ensure a smoother supply chain.
  3. Work with the Parts Manager to determine root cause of any trends, deficiencies, or gaps in the Logistics Management Program.
  4. Action supply requests for any bulk or international purchases, as approved by the Finance Officer.
  5. Work with the Accounting Department to action payment receipts, as approved by the Procurement Procedures.
  6. Maintaining proper documentation to support all purchases and purchase requests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing all chain supply operations.
  2. Organizing and managing inventory, storage, and transportation.
  3. Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
  4. Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity.
  5. Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues.
  6. Liaising with local and international customs brokers as necessary.
  7. Plan shipments, monitor their progress, and prepare any necessary documents and regulatory requirements.
  8. Submit freight bills and process bills of lading for approval.
  9. Any other duties assigned from time to time.

Education & Experience:

Minimum: 

  1. Associates Degree
  2. 3 Years of Logistics Management Experience
  3. Knowledge of international shipping regulations and import/export management.
  4. Knowledge of customs procedures and regulations.

  2. 5 Years of Logistics Management Experience
