TROPIC AIR TO KEEP PLACENCIA CONNECTED DURING AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Until construction and improvement work at the Placencia Airstrip (PLJ) is complete, hopefully in November, Tropic Air will serve the region via the Riversdale Airstrip at the northern end of the peninsula. Flights will be available to and from the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (PGIA / BZE), Belize City Municipal, Dangriga and Punta Gorda.

Please note that flights to and from Goldson International will not carry other domestic passengers. They will be solely for passengers whose origin or final destination is the PGIA. Domestic passengers will be carried across a separate parallel domestic network, with dedicated planes. Departure times are also being staggered to avoid mixing domestic and international passengers in our terminals.

We would like to remind our passengers that even though Riversdale may be their intended airstrip, they should continue to book the destination using the Placencia (PLJ) menu option on our website. In addition, due to the location of the Riversdale airstrip, all passengers must purchase their tickets at least one (1) hour in advance. Check-in will take place at the Riversdale airstrip and will need to be completed no less than 30 minutes prior to departure. Passengers are responsible for their own transport to/from Riversdale.

All outgoing cargo must be received at our Placencia station no later than 1pm to make the 2:20pm departure.

As our schedule can change based on unforeseen developments, we encourage all our customers to follow our social media channels for real time updates.
