Connecting TO Another Carrier’s International Flight?
When booking a flight to Belize International Airport (BZE) in order to connect with an international flight, we ask that your domestic portion be booked with a departure time of not less than three (3) hours prior to the departure time of your connecting flight. This is to ensure that you arrive at the Belize International Airport before the two (2) hour check-in window required by carriers such as American, Delta, Southwest, COPA, United and Avianca. If you are travelling on a Saturday, we suggest that additional time be allowed due to congestion at the Belize International Airport.
WestJet customers. We strongly suggest you plan to be at that airline’s check-in counter at the Belize International Airport no later than three (3) hours prior to departure. We kindly ask for you to plan your connecting flight with us accordingly in order to accommodate this requirement. WestJet has a one hour cut-off window at the ticket counter, and will not accept late check-ins under any circumstances. If you miss this window, you will be denied boarding. In addition, Tropic Air will not be held responsible for any of our passengers who fail to plan with these requirements in mind.

When booking a domestic flight from Belize International Airport (BZE) that is connecting from an international flight, we suggest that your domestic portion with us be booked with a minimum (1) hour connection time. This is to allow for customs and immigration transit times.

Tropic Air permits each passenger travelling domestically in Belize, one (1) carry-on and two (2) checked bags.
We allow one small carry on per passenger. Examples of allowable carry-ons are personal bags such as a purse or a small backpack. Maximum weight of these items cannot exceed 15lbs (6.8kgs), and due to limited cabin space, all carry-ons must fit in your lap.
If your carry-on is larger than the above requirements, your carry-on must be checked-in.

Tropic Air assumes no liability for fragile or perishable articles or items intended for resale. Do not pack valuables or irreplaceable articles such as cash, camera equipment, jewelry, medicine, eyeglasses, securities, legal documents, antiques, computer and electronic items in any checked bag as Tropic Air will not be liable for damage to or loss of these items.
We do not accept liability for minor cuts, nicks, or scrapes incurred commonly in the handling of baggage or for the failure or loss of wheels, handles, straps and other appurtenances. We also do not accept liability for the failure of a bag to contain its contents as evidenced by splitting of seams, zippers or other closures. Maximum liability for the loss or damage to a bag and its contents is based on shipping weight and will be limited to applicable government or IATA rules.

Guatemala (Flores / Tikal)
For passengers travelling FROM Belize to Guatemala, departure taxes are included in the ticket.
For passengers travelling FROM Guatemala to Belize, there is a Guatemalan departure tax of $33USD per person. This is paid at the airport bank after check-in, but before proceeding though security screening.
Both cash and credit cards are currently accepted for payment of these taxes.
Honduras (Roatan & San Pedro Sula)
For passengers travelling to and from Honduras, departure taxes and fees are included in your ticket.
Mexico (Mérida, Cancun & Chetumal )
For itineraries purchased on, or after, October 31, 2016: All taxes and fees are included in your ticket.
For itineraries purchased before October 31, 2016: There is a charge of $26USD per person for passengers travelling TO Mexico payable at check-in the Belize International Airport. This a foreign national arrival tax required by the Government of Mexico, and is required to be collected at check-in / departure in Belize for travel outbound to that country. This fee does not apply to Mexican nationals. For passengers travelling FROM Mexico, there is a charge $30USD per person that is paid at check-in. This is the Mexican departure tax. Please note that sometimes, this charge can fluctuate a little (for example to $33USD per person) to reflect current exchange rates.
Unfortunately credit cards cannot be accepted for payment of these Mexican taxes. Only US dollars (cash) is accepted.
For the safety and comfort of your pet(s), we are not able accommodate them on our international flights.
However on domestic flights within Belize, we do carry pets. All animals must be in a kennel or a kennel bag to be supplied by the owner (including service dogs). Only guide dogs will be allowed on the aircraft without a kennel. Depending on the size of the kennel we will determine whether the pet will require a seat. If a seat is necessary, the kennel must be strapped into the back seat at all times. Medium or large kennels may have to pay for one, two or possible three seats depending on the size of the kennel. Passengers also have the option to charter an aircraft to transport their pets.
