Mechanic – Tropic Air’s Fuel Department in Belize City (Municipal Airport)
Tropic Air is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of a Mechanic at Tropic Air’s Fuel Department in Belize City (Municipal Airport).
REPORTS TO:
Fuel Supervisor
PAY GRADE LEVEL:
Technical Support TS2
*45 Hour Work Week; Subject to qualifications, skills and experience.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Tropic Air’s diesel trucks, fueling equipment and fuel facility. The incumbent also assist in operating the fueling equipment, filling the fuel truck, delivering the fuel and fueling the aircraft in a safe and timely manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Perform visual and physical inspection of fueling equipment, diesel vehicles, fuel farm, and reports any malfunctions or inconsistencies.
- Perform repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on fuel facility, fueling equipment and trucks.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
-
- Ensures the safe and timely refueling of all aircrafts and fuel trucks in accordance with safety policies and statutory regulations.
- Drives/operates fueling equipment and vehicles in a safe manner.
- Maintains safety and security of the ramp and fueling equipment at all times and complies with safety procedures and station policies.
- Lifts, pulls, carries and connects fuel hose at fuel panel of the aircraft.
- Communicates with operations, flight crew personnel and other ground personnel concerning fuel loads and arrival/departure information in a professional manner.
- Processes fuel sheets and documents records in accordance with company procedures.
- Responds to fuel emergencies (ie. fuel spills) utilizing emergency response protocols and follow established environmental/company guidelines.
- Complies with Tropic Air’s SOPs and policies.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Valid AB2 driver’s license.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive, multiple shift, and team-oriented environment.
- Must be dependable and able to take direction from supervisors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
-
- 1st Level Auto Mechanic certificate or higher.
- High School Diploma or equivalent technical and vocational training.
- 1+ Years of relevant working experience.
Preferred:
-
- Associates Degree in Automotive/Mechanical engineering.
- Prior working knowledge and training with fuel handling, fuel quality control, and safety.
- 3+ Years working experience in diesel diagnostics, diesel engines, airbrake systems, automotive and heavy equipment repairs.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and monitoring the major infrastructure components that comprise Tropic Air’s enterprise network.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pilot in Command – Tropic Air’s Pilot Crew Department (San Pedro Town)
Tropic Air is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of a Pilot in Command at Tropic Air’s Pilot Crew Department in San Pedro Town.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
A Caravan Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of passengers and cargo while operating Tropic Air’s Cessna C208 aircraft within regulatory and procedural framework provided, while maintaining high customer service and relation standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum:
- Commercial Pilot’s license with Instrument Rating (C208B).
- Associate Degree.
- English Proficiency minimum ICAO standard Level 5.
- Successful completion of the training course specific to the single crew role if conducting single crew operations.
- CE-208: Total Hours: 2000, in command 1000 hours, of which 150 in command of a turbine engine powered aircraft, 50 hours in type which need not be Pilot in Command, 25 hours flight time under IFR and 15 hours flight time at night.
- PIC 500 (to include 100 hrs. IFR), Multi-Engine turbine 250, In type 50 (which need not be PIC).
- Rating on approval, Total Hours: 500
- 50 Hours on the specific types or class of airplane under IFR, of which 10 hours is as a Pilot in Command, for single crew operations.

Analyst – Network Planning in Commercial Department (San Pedro Town)
Tropic Air is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of an Analyst at the Commercial Department in San Pedro Town.
REPORTS TO:
Sr. Manager Commercial
PAY GRADE; LEVEL:
*40 Hour work week; hourly rate subject to skill and experience.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The successful candidate that will be part of Tropic’s Commercial Department and will play a critical role in the various stages along the network planning process – from longer-term planning to eventual execution – to help the airline improve its network profitability and connectivity. His/her analysis and strategic inputs will result in network decisions that will then trigger the company’s sales, operations, and financial planning. This role will hone the candidate’s ability to synthesize and problem-solve and offer the opportunity to make highly impactful recommendations for the organization.
The Network Planning Analyst will primarily focus on the production of feasibility studies into new routes, monitoring the financial performance of the existing network and taking remedial action in conjunction with the Scheduling section. He/She will support the Commercial Department with network analytics, strategic projects, and benchmarking versus other airlines. He/She will also build materials for quarterly network performance reviews and Board of Directors presentations.
Successful candidates will have a passion for problem solving, creative thinking and continuous improvement. Collegiality and working collaboratively are also critical requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To oversee the constant review of route performance against targets and report on deviations requiring management intervention.
- Manage the production of route evaluations conduction research to identify new routes and opportunities for Tropic Air.
- To assist with the development of the long-term plan and planning modelling for the future scope and shape of the airline.
- Monitor competitor airlines, in terms of schedules, product, fleet mix, etc. and report back to Senior Management.
- Collaborate closely with the Scheduling and Operations team to provide economic analysis and evaluate the impacts of planned schedule changes.
- Monitor weekly and monthly results, identifying anomalies, emergence of trends, opportunities and threats that require further analysis.
- Manage ad hoc project work and presentations, providing relevant analysis and expertise as required.
- Drive network capacity decisions through the use of data.
- Prepare analyses to management defining problem, evaluation and possible solution.
- Regularly evaluate operational schedule alternatives to improve reliability while maximizing revenue and ensure adherence to multiple operational criteria.
- Provide data and analytical support for the Scheduling and Planning processes.
- Identify and review opportunities and perform economic projections for network expansion in existing or new markets, in the longer/medium-term.
- Review and improve poorer performing routes through schedules and structural adjustments.
- Drives network value by finding opportunities to improve timings, increase utilization or optimize markets for aircraft size through creative scheduling and problem solving.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Adept with Excel, statistics or numerical visualization tools, mathematical programming (e.g macro programming for Excel).
